Corporate citizenship and sustainability efforts remain central to how we operate and to how we create long-term value. Being a responsible and trusted partner to our insureds, team members and communities is integral to our business model and strategy. As our national platform continues to expand, it enables us to deliver meaningful local impact.
Disaster Response & Preparedness
We consider it both a privilege and a responsibility to help our policyholders restore their lives, businesses, and communities after disasters.
We are active members of the California Insurance Emergency Response Association (CIERA), whose mission is to equip California’s property and casualty insurance industry with the resources needed to effectively support policyholders after catastrophic disasters. By leveraging industry expertise to deliver coordinated, transparent catastrophe response services, CIERA helps individuals and businesses recover more quickly and rebuild with confidence, strengthening the resilience of our communities.
In addition to our partnership with CIERA, we also partner with Team Rubicon, a military veteran-led humanitarian organization that provides critical support before, during, and after crises. Our partnership helps Team Rubicon train and deploy volunteers who travel to communities severely impacted by disaster. Known as ‘Greyshirts’, these volunteers come from all walks of life and include many Palomar team members. Together, we clear and manage debris, repair and rebuild properties that have been damaged, and assist other responders to ensure services and aid reach affected communities as quickly as possible.
Governance Practice
Corporate governance is central to Palomar’s long-term value creation. We are committed to responsible governance and to delivering value to our stakeholders, including the people, businesses, and communities we serve.
Data Privacy & Cybersecurity
Palomar recognizes that protecting the privacy and security of the personal information of its customers is an important and paramount responsibility. We evaluate data from many sources, third-party service providers, public databases and that shared by our individual and business customers themselves. In order to properly secure this data safely, we maintain safeguards designed to help prevent unauthorized use, access and disclosure of personal information. We have worked diligently to create a multi-layered security posture leveraging people, process, and technology. This mindset is fundamental to not only ensure the security of our customers but also the long-term success of our business.
We’ve received our SOC 2® Type II report after having successfully passed the third-party audit. SOC 2® is a robust security framework designed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to guide organizations in safeguarding customer data against unauthorized access, security breaches, and various other threats. We are proud to have taken these steps in maturing our security program and will continue the efforts going forward.
